Roadworks and Traffic Restrictions

  • Overnight road closure at level crossing, 10-11 December

    Chapel Lane/Kirk Hill 20 meters either side of the level crossing will be closed from 11:00pm Saturday 10 December until 8:30am Sunday 11 December. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary traffic lights on Chapel Lane, 28 September – 5 October

    Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on Chapel Lane from Wednesday the 28th of September until Wednesday the 5th of October, between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Market Street/Market Place/Church Street road closures for the Bingham Classic Car and Bike Show

    The following sections of road will be closed for the Bingham Classic Car and Bike Show on Sunday 21st August 2022, between 9:00am and 4:30pm:

    • Market Place – between its junctions with Market Street and Church Street
    • Market Street – between its junctions with Newgate Street and Union Street
    • Church Street – between its junctions with Market Street and Market Place

    The existing one-way street Traffic Regulation Order in the following length of road will be temporarily suspended, meaning that traffic may flow in both directions for the purpose of accessing Station Street.

  • Temporary road closure on Mallow Way, 16 September

    Mallow Way will be closed (between its junction with Lune Way and its junction with Cherwell Gardens) on the 16th of September, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, in order to repair a defective manhole cover. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • UPDATED: Lane closure on Margidunum Roundabout (Fosse Way), now 12 August

    Updated 10 Aug 2022: work has moved to the 12th of August.

    There will be a lane closure on Margidunum Roundabout (Fosse Way) on the 12th of August, 9:30am – 3:30pm, to repair a damaged lamp column. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Road closure on Kirk Hill/Chapel Lane overnight, 27th-28th of July

    A temporary road closure will be required on Kirk Hill/Chapel Lane (20m either side of the level crossing) from 10:00pm on the 27th of July until 05:30am on the 28th of July.

  • Roadworks on Market Street, Market Place, Long Acre, 1st-28th August

    The following restrictions will be in place on Market Street (from Newgate Street to Long Acre), Market Place (from Market Street to Church Street) and Long Acre (from Needham Street to Market Street) between the 1st and 28th of August:

    • Temporary prohibition of waiting loading and unloading. (Both sides, at any time)
    • 3 way-Traffic lights in use during the works

  • Temporary traffic lights on Chapel Lane, 8 June

    Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Chapel Lane on Wednesday 8 June, 9:30am to 3:30pm. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Road closures and restrictions for the Bingham Summer Fair

    Restrictions will be in place on the 11th of June for the Bingham Summer Fair:

    • Temporary prohibition of driving

      Market Place – between its junctions with Market Street and Station Street.
      Market Place – between its junctions with Market Street and Church Street.
      Market Street – between its junctions with Union Street and Newgate Street.

    • Temporary prohibition of waiting

      Long Acre – (south side, at any time) between its junctions with Walkers Close and Cherry Street.

    • Suspension of one-way

      Market Place – between its junctions with Church Street and Station Street.

  • Temporary traffic lights on Chapel Lane (opposite Lidl), 9-20 May

    Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Chapel Lane (opposite Lidl) from Monday the 9th of May until Friday the 20th of May 2022. Please see the attached document for further information.
