Roadworks and Traffic Restrictions

  • Temporary Four-Way Traffic Signals – Fisher Lane and Newgate Street

    For the purpose of gas main replacement works, temporary four-way traffic signals will be in operation at the following locations:

    Site 1: Fisher Lane, Bingham (Junction with The Banks)

    • From Monday, 23rd October 2023 to Sunday, 5th November 2023. Operating 24hrs.

    Site 2: Newgate Street, Bingham (Junction with Fairfield Street)

    • From Monday, 30th October 2023 to Wednesday, 15th November 2023. Operating 24hrs.

    Please note that only one set of signals will be in operation at any given time. Refer to the attached document for more detailed information.

  • Temporary Driving Prohibition – Union Street (Whole Length)

    A Temporary Prohibition of Driving will be in place on Union Street, covering its entire length, from 10:00pm on Monday the 30th of October 2023 until 6:00am on Thursday the 2nd of November 2023 due to overnight pest proofing works. An alternative route is available via Market Street – Long Acre – Needham Street. Please refer to the attached document for more details.

  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Market Place, Bingham (at its Junction with Longacre and Church Lane), 2nd to 7th of October

    Temporary two-way traffic signals will be in operation at Market Place, Bingham; specifically at its junctions with Longacre, and Church Lane, from Monday the 2nd to Saturday the 7th of October. The traffic management will be active during the nighttime hours of 7:00p to 6:00am. The measures are in place to facilitate carriageway resurfacing work.   • Traffic restrictions – Market Street, Bingham, 2nd to 7th of October (UPDATED)

    Road closure:

    • Market Street – from its junction with Long Acre to its junction with Church Street.

    The existing one-way street Traffic Regulation Order will be temporarily suspended in the following lengths of road. As a result, traffic may flow in both directions for the purpose of accessing Long Acre:

    • Union Street – for its entire length.
    • Needham Street – for its entire length.

    Work will take place overnight, 7:00pm – 6:00am, from Monday, 2nd of October until Saturday, 7th of October.

    The prohibitions are in place to facilitate Highway Resurfacing Works.

  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Grantham Road (at its Junction with Nightingale Way), 25th to 27th of September

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be in operation on Grantham Road, Bingham (at its Junction with Nightingale Way) continuously from Monday the 25th of September until Wednesday the 27th of September. The works are for cable repairs in the carriageway. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Mallow Way (at its Junction with Medway Drive, Outside No45), 19th of September

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be in operation on Mallow Way, Bingham (at its Junction with Medway Drive, Outside No45) between 8:00am and 5:00pm on Tuesday the 19th of September. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Market Street, Bingham (Outside No. 13), In Progress Until 17th September

    Two-way traffic signals are currently in operation on Market Street, Bingham, outside No. 13, for immediate works. These restrictions will be active 24 hours a day until Sunday the 17th of September. The purpose of these works is an urgent excavation in the highway to locate and repair an LV cable fault. These works are being carried out by National Grid Electricity Distribution. Please refer to the attached document for more details.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Nottingham Road (at its Junction with Thoresby Road), 11th of September to 29th of November

    Temporary traffic signals, including four-way and two-way configurations, will be in operation on Nottingham Road, Bingham (at its Junction with Thoresby Road) 24 hours a day, starting from Monday the 11th of September until Wednesday the 29th of November. Only one set of signals will be used at any one time. These adjustments are due to a gas mains replacement project. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Nottingham Road (Outside No17, Junction with Brewsters Close), 24th of August

    Immediate works necessitate the use of multiway signals on Nottingham Road, Bingham (Outside No17, Junction with Brewsters Close) continuously for 24 hours starting from 24th of August and continuing until Tuesday the 29th of August. This is due to a significant leak on the water main. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Market Street/Market Place/Church Street road closures for the Bingham Classic Car and Bike Show

    The following sections of road will be closed for the Bingham Classic Car and Bike Show on Sunday 20th August 2023, between 9:00am and 4:30pm:

    • Market Place – between its junctions with Market Street and Station Street
    • Market Street – between its junctions with Newgate Street and Union Street
    • Church Street – between its junctions with Market Street and Market Place

    The existing one-way street Traffic Regulation Order in the following length of road will be temporarily suspended, meaning that traffic may flow in both directions for the purpose of accessing Station Street:

    • Market Place – between its junctions with Church Street and Station Street
