Ongoing and Forthcoming Roadworks

Roadworks and Traffic Restrictions

  • Temporary Prohibitions – Bingham Christmas Fair, 29th November

    On Friday, 29th November 2024, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, temporary road closures and restrictions will be in effect in Bingham for the Bingham Christmas Fair, organized by the Bingham Community Events Group. The restrictions include:

    • Market Place: Entire length, prohibition of driving.
    • Market Street: Between Union Street and Newgate Street, prohibition of driving.
    • Station Street: Entire length, prohibition of driving.
    • Long Acre: Between Market Street and Fairfield Street, prohibition of waiting, loading, and unloading.

    Diversion and access changes:

    • Access to Cherry Street and Church Street via Long Acre.
    • Access to Needham Street and Union Street via Long Acre.
    • Access to Newgate Street off Fairfield Street.
    • The one-way system will be suspended with temporary no entry and one-way adjustments for the event.

  • Temporary Road Closures – Bingham Remembrance Day Parade, 10th November

    Temporary road closures will be in effect for the Bingham Remembrance Day Parade, organized by the Bingham Community Events Group, on Sunday, 10th November 2024 from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM. The closures include:

    • Market Place: From its junction with Market Street to its junction with Station Street.
    • Market Street: From its junction with Market Place to its junction with Union Street.
    • Station Street: From its junction with Market Place to its junction with Langtry Gardens.
    • Union Street: From its junction with Market Street to its junction with Needham Street.

    Diversion routes will be marshalled and clearly signed on-site. These measures are to ensure the safety and smooth running of the parade. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 22nd to 23rd October

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation at the junction of Chapel Lane with Martin Road, just south of the roundabout, continuously from Tuesday, 22nd October 2024 to Wednesday, 23rd October 2024. This installation is necessary for Severn Trent Water to undertake a hydrant renewal build in the footway adjacent to the roundabout. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Long Acre, Bingham, 16th October

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Long Acre, Bingham, approximately 100 meters east of its junction with Market Street, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on Wednesday, 16th October 2024. These measures are necessary for Severn Trent Water to undertake the repair and replacement of a defective manhole frame and cover. For more details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Postponed: Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham

    The previously scheduled temporary traffic signals on Chapel Lane, Bingham, approximately 50 meters south of the roundabout with junctions at Martin Road and Dunsmore Avenue, have been postponed. These traffic signals were initially set for 24-hour operation from Thursday, 10th October 2024 to Friday, 11th October 2024 for a hydrant renewal by Severn Trent Water. A new date for this work will be confirmed and communicated in due course.

  • Temporary Road Closures – Multiple Locations in Bingham, 18th to 29th November

    Temporary road closures will be in effect at multiple locations in Bingham for carriageway patching works from 20:00 to 06:00, starting Monday, 18th November until Friday, 29th November 2024. The affected areas are:

    • Long Acre: From Nottingham Road to Market Street.
    • Tithby Road: From Nottingham Road to The Crofts.
    • Fairfield Street: From Nottingham Road northwards for 60 meters.
    • Nottingham Road: From its junction with Long Acre southwest for 40 meters.

    These closures, carried out by Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, will necessitate alternative routes via Fairfield, Kirkhill, Chapel Lane, A6097 Fosse Way, B692 Fosse Road, and Nottingham Road. For further information, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 4th to 9th October

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, opposite the Focus Manufacturing Factory, continuously from Friday, 4th October 2024 to Wednesday, 9th October 2024. These measures are necessary for Severn Trent Water to undertake urgent repairs on a large main in the carriageway. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 10th to 11th October

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, approximately 50 meters south of the roundabout with junctions at Martin Road and Dunsmore Avenue, continuously from Thursday, 10th October 2024 to Friday, 11th October 2024. This is to facilitate a hydrant renewal by Severn Trent Water. For more details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Road Closure – Church Street, Bingham, 18th to 22nd September

    A temporary road closure will be in place on Church Street, Bingham, from its junction with Market Place easterly for a distance of 65 meters, from 08:00 on Wednesday, 18th September 2024 until 17:00 on Sunday, 22nd September 2024. This closure is necessary for Cadent Gas mains connection works, carried out by Sunbelt Rentals. An alternative route will be available via Cherry Street, Long Acre, and Market Street.   • Temporary Traffic Signals – Long Acre and Fairfield Street, Bingham, 3rd September

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Long Acre and Fairfield Street, Bingham, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024. These signals are necessary for Via East Midlands, on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, to undertake core sampling along both roads. For more details, please refer to the attached document.
