Roadworks and Traffic Restrictions

  • Temporary Road Closures – Bingham Christmas Fair, Friday 28th November 2025

    Temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in Bingham on Friday, 28th November 2025 between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM to facilitate the Bingham Christmas Fair, organised by Bingham Community Events.

    Road Closures:

    • Market Place – entire length

    • Market Street – from its junction with Union Street to its junction with Newgate Street

    • Station Street – entire length

    No Waiting, Loading or Unloading (both sides):

    • Long Acre – from its junction with Market Street to its junction with Fairfield Street

    Alternative Route: Newgate Street – Fairfield Street – Long Acre and vice versa.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Tithby Road, 10th to 12th November 2025

    Temporary two-way traffic signals will be in place on Tithby Road, between Whitefields Farm and Crown Cottages, from Monday, 10th November to Wednesday, 12th November 2025. The signals will be operational daily between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. These works are being carried out by Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to install verge marker posts on both sides of the carriageway.   • Temporary Road Closures – Bingham Remembrance Day Parade, Sunday 9th November 2025

    Temporary road closures will be in effect in Bingham to accommodate the Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday, 9th November 2025, between 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM. The following roads will be closed during this time:

    • Market Place – from its junction with Market Street to its junction with Station Street

    • Market Street – from its junction with Market Place to its junction with Union Street

    • Station Street – from its junction with Market Place to its junction with Langtry Gardens

    • Union Street – from its junction with Market Street to its junction with Needham Street

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Long Acre, Bingham, 14th to 15th October 2025

    Temporary two-way traffic signals will be in place on Long Acre, Bingham, between its junctions with The Paddock and Market Street, from Tuesday, 14th October to Wednesday, 15th October 2025. The signals will be in operation 24 hours a day and will be manually controlled during peak times (7:00–9:30 AM and 3:30–7:00 PM). These measures are necessary for Severn Trent Water to carry out a hydrant repair. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Road Closure – Willow Road, Bingham, 5th November 2025 to 16th January 2026 (UPDATED 11 November 2025)

    A temporary one-way road closure will be in place on Willow Road, Bingham, from its westbound junction with Grantham Road to its eastbound junction with Grantham Road. The closure will be in effect from 8:00 AM on Wednesday, 5th November 2025 until 5:00 PM on Friday, 16th January 2026.

    This restriction is required for Severn Trent Water to carry out water main renewal and connection works. An alternative route will be signed via Grantham Road. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Road Closure – Grantham Road, Bingham, 26th to 27th September 2025

    A temporary road closure and parking suspension will be in effect on Grantham Road, Bingham, from its junction with the A52 Bingham Bypass for a distance of 200 metres in a westerly direction. The restriction will be in place from 8:00 PM on Friday, 26th September until 5:00 AM on Saturday, 27th September 2025. These measures are required for carriageway repair works being carried out by Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. No diversion routes are available during this closure.   • Temporary Road Closure – Mill Hill Road, Bingham, 1st October 2025

    A temporary road closure will be in effect on Mill Hill Road, Bingham, from its junction with Frome Gardens to its junction with Charlock Gardens, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Wednesday, 1st October 2025. The closure is required to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out manhole cover repair works.

    Diversion route: Tithby Road – Nottingham Road and vice versa.

  • Temporary Overnight Road Closures – A46 between Winthorpe and Syston Roundabout, 6th October – 10th November

    A temporary road closure will be in place on the A46 between Winthorpe and Syston Roundabout, from Monday, 6th October 2025 until Monday, 1oth November 2025. This is to enable the upgrading of the current lighting to LEDs. The new LED lighting will be more energy efficient and require less maintenance in the future.

    Work will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am.

    To ensure the work is carried out safely, the Highways Agency will work under a combination of slip road and lane closures. Unless otherwise indicated, work will be completed over 1 night.

    During closures, fully signed diversions will be in place.

    Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.

    Friday 17 Oct – A46 northbound entry slip closed

    Monday 20 Oct 2 nights – A46 southbound exit slip and lane 1 closed

    Monday 20 Oct – Southbound exit and entry slip closed

    Melton Road junction

    Wed 22 Oct 2 nights – A46 northbound exit slip and lane 1 closed

    Nottingham Raceway Karting junction

    Wednesday 22 Oct – Northbound exit and entry slip closed

    Shell garage past Seagrave Road

    Friday 24 Oct 8 nights – Northbound carriageway closed and a partial closure of Parkhill Lane. Lane 2 of the southbound carriageway also closed.

  • Temporary Road Closure – Newgate Street, Bingham, 28th October 2025

    A temporary road closure and parking suspension will be in effect on Newgate Street, Bingham, from its junction with Gillotts Close to its junction with Moor Lane, between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Tuesday, 28th October 2025. These restrictions are necessary for Severn Trent Water to repair and replace defective manhole frames and covers.

    The diversion will be via Fairfield Street – Long Acre – Cherry Street – Church Street – Market Place. Please follow diversion signage and plan your journey accordingly. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Footpath Closure – Moor Lane Foot Crossing, Bingham, 13th to 14th October 2025

    A temporary footpath closure will be in place at Moor Lane Foot Crossing, Bingham, from a point 100 metres north of its junction with Newgate for a distance of 50 metres in a northerly direction. The closure will be in effect from 10:30 PM on Monday, 13th October 2025 until 5:35 AM on Tuesday, 14th October 2025. This closure is necessary to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out tamping works.
