Roadworks and Traffic Restrictions

  • Temporary Road Closure – Kirk Hill, Bingham, 13th April 2025

    A temporary road closure will be in effect on Kirk Hill, Bingham, from 23:30 hours on Sunday, 13th April 2025 to 05:00 hours on Monday, 14th April 2025. The closure area extends from 20 metres south of the southerly level crossing barrier to 20 metres north of the northerly level crossing barrier. This closure is necessary for Network Rail to conduct the annual level crossing test. The recommended diversion route during this closure will be via Kirk Hill, Nottingham Road, B692, and Chapel Lane.

  • Temporary Road Closures – Kirk Hill & Newgate Street, Bingham, March-April 2025

    Temporary road closures will be in effect for gas mains replacement works carried out by Cadent Gas at two locations in Bingham:

    1. Kirk Hill: From its junction with Carnarvon Place southwards for 40 meters, from 08:00 on Monday, 31st March until 16:00 on Monday, 14th April 2025.

    2. Newgate Street: From its junction with Kirk Hill to its junction with Green Lane, from 08:00 on Monday, 7th April until 16:00 on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025.

    Diversion Routes:

    • For Kirk Hill: Traffic will be diverted via Chapel Lane, A46, A52, and Nottingham Road.
    • For Newgate Street: Traffic will be rerouted via Market Street, Church Street, Longacre, and Fairfield Street.

  • Lane Closure – Nottingham Road, Bingham, 17th to 18th February 2025

    A lane closure will be in effect on Nottingham Road, specifically the westbound right turn lane on the roundabout with the A52 Bingham Bypass between the junctions of B692 Fosse Way and Nottingham Road. This closure will occur from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM starting Monday, 17th February 2025 and concluding Tuesday, 18th February 2025. The closure is necessary to facilitate sign installation works by National Highways. Motorists are advised to expect potential delays and consider alternative routes during these hours.   • Temporary Traffic Signals – The Banks, Bingham, 17th to 28th February 2025

    Temporary four-way traffic signals will be in place at the junction of The Banks and Fisher Lane, Bingham, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, starting Monday, 17th February 2025 until Friday, 28th February 2025. This traffic management is necessary to facilitate gas mains replacement works conducted by Cadent.   • Temporary Traffic Signals – School Lane, Bingham, 7th to 23rd April 2025

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be operational 24 hours a day at the junction of School Lane and Fairfield Street, Bingham, from Monday, 7th April 2025 to Wednesday, 23rd April 2025. These measures are necessary to facilitate gas mains replacement works conducted by Cadent. Motorists are advised to expect potential delays and plan their travel accordingly during these works.   • Temporary Parking Restrictions – Long Acre, Bingham, 3rd to 7th February 2025

    Temporary parking restrictions will be in place on Long Acre, Bingham, from its junction with Needham Street to its junction with Market Street, from 9:00 AM on Monday, 3rd February 2025 until 3:30 PM on Friday, 7th February 2025. These restrictions are necessary to facilitate the installation of a new bus stop by Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Please note that no alternative routes are necessary as the road will remain open to traffic, but parking will be restricted in the work area during this period. Motorists are advised to look for alternative parking options and be mindful of the temporary traffic management measures

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Long Acre, Bingham, 3rd to 7th February 2025

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be in operation on Long Acre, Bingham, opposite the junction with Market Street, around the clock from Monday, 3rd February 2025 to Friday, 7th February 2025. This arrangement is necessary to facilitate the installation of a new bus stop by Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.   • Temporary Road Restrictions – Long Acre & Walkers Close, 27th to 31st of January

    Temporary prohibition of waiting and multi-way signals will be in effect on Long Acre, Bingham (both sides, from its junction with Needham Street to a point 15m west of its junction with Walkers Close) and the entire length of Walkers Close from 09:00 hours on Monday, 27th of January until 16:00 hours on Friday, 31st of January. These measures are to facilitate gully and manhole repair works. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary Parking Restrictions – Long Acre, Bingham, 13th to 16th January 2025

    Temporary parking restrictions will be in effect on Long Acre, Bingham, from its junction with Market Street to its junction with The Paddock, from 8:00 AM on Monday, 13th January 2025 until 5:00 PM on Thursday, 16th January 2025. These restrictions are necessary to facilitate excavation works by Severn Trent Water for a manhole installation. Please note, there will be no road closure, but parking along this section will be prohibited during the works.   • Temporary Traffic Signals – Douglas Road, Bingham, 10th to 12th January 2025

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be in place at the junction of Douglas Road and Carr Road from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Friday, 10th January 2025 until Sunday, 12th January 2025. These measures are necessary for Severn Trent Water to perform lining of a defective sewer line from within the manhole.
