Ongoing and Forthcoming Roadworks

This page is intended to summarise roadworks and traffic restrictions based on the information we receive from Via, Highways England and other organisations. Although we endeavour to ensure the information is accurate, we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions.

Roadworks and Traffic Restrictions

  • Lane Closures – Margidunum Roundabout (Fosse Way/Fosse Road/Chapel Lane), 12th to 23rd of June

    From Monday the 12th to Friday the 23rd of June 2023, lane closures will be in effect at Margidunum Roundabout, Bingham (Fosse Way/Fosse Road/Chapel Lane). The restrictions will be in place from 9:30am to 15:30pm, Monday to Friday only, with no work planned over the weekend. These closures are necessary to facilitate the replacement of posts and chevrons. For additional information, please refer to the attached document.

  • Road Closure and Suspension of One-Way – Union Street & Needham Street, 3rd to 6th of July

    Road work restrictions will be implemented on Union Street and Needham Street, Bingham from 10:00pm on Monday the 3rd of July to 6:00am on Thursday the 6th of July 2023. The specific restrictions are as follows:

    Road Closure: Union Street, Bingham – From its eastern side boundary of the Super Market Carpark to its junction with Market Street.

    Suspension of One-Way: Union Street, Bingham – From its junction with Needham Street to its eastern side boundary of the Super Market Car Park. Also, Needham Street – From its junction with Union Street to its junction with Long Acre.

    Works will be undertaken daily between 10:00pm and 6:00am. The road closure will be removed outside of these hours. Access to the Super Market Carpark will not be affected during this time.

    Marshals will be present on site to direct traffic through the one-way suspension. We advise motorists to use Long Acre as an alternative route during this time.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Fosse Way, Wednesday 24 May

    Two-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Fosse Way, Bingham for one day only, on Wednesday the 24th of May 2023, between 09:00 and 15:00 hours. The temporary signals are required to facilitate tree felling of diseased trees. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and advise all road users to take extra care and allow extra time for their journeys. For further information, please see the attached document.

  • CANCELLED: Temporary Traffic Lights – Three-Way Signals, 11th to 15th of May (Weekdays Only)

    These works have now been cancelled.

    Three-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Porchester Road from Thursday the 11th of May to Monday the 15th of May, between 9:30am and 15:30pm on weekdays only. The purpose of these works is to adjust kerbs to alleviate flooding issues. The works are being promoted by Nottinghamshire County Council. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary Road Closure – Newgate Street, Bingham (Whole Length), 21st – 26th April

    Newgate Street, Bingham will be temporarily closed for its entire length, with the actual closure outside No. 20, from 12:00 hours on Friday, 21st April 2023, until 16:00 hours on Wednesday, 26th April 2023 inclusive. This temporary road closure is due to an emergency water leak repair being carried out by Severn Trent Water. Please follow the alternative route via Market Street – Long Acre and vice versa.   • Temporary Road Closure – Kirk Hill, Bingham (Near Level Crossing Barriers), 9th-10th of May

    A temporary road closure will be in place on Kirk Hill, Bingham – 20m either side of the level crossing barriers – from 22:30 hours on Tuesday, 9th May 2023, until 05:30 hours on Wednesday, 10th May 2023 inclusive. The closure is due to level crossing works being carried out by Network Rail.

    During this time, an alternative route will be available via Fairfield Street, Nottingham Road, A692 Fosse Way, and Chapel Lane (and vice-versa). Please refer to the attached document for additional details.

  • Temporary Road Closure – Kirk Hill, Bingham (20m either side of Level Crossing Barriers), 27th-28th May

    Kirk Hill, Bingham will be subject to a temporary road closure, extending 20 meters either side of the level crossing barriers, from 23:00 hours on Saturday 27th May 2023 until 08:30 hours on Sunday 28th May 2023. The closure is necessary to facilitate level crossing works being carried out by Network Rail.

    During the closure, an alternative route will be available via Tithby Road, A52, A692 Fosse Way, and Chapel Lane (and vice-versa). Please refer to the attached document for more details.

  • Two-Way Temporary Traffic Signals – Kirk Hill (at the Level Crossing), 22nd – 23rd of April

    Two-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Kirk Hill, Bingham (at the Level Crossing) between 23:00 hours on Saturday the 22nd of April and 09:00 hours on Sunday the 23rd of April. The works are being carried out to renew the barrier circuit controllers. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Tithby Road (at its Junction with Langar Road), 22nd to 24th of March

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be in operation on Tithby Road, Bingham (at its Junction with Langar Road) from Wednesday the 22nd of March to Friday the 24th of March 2023. The traffic signals will be in effect for 24 hours, and will be manually controlled during peak times. This is to facilitate Severn Trent Water carrying out a repair to a leak in the carriageway.   • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham (near roundabout with Singleton Drive), 24th April to 2nd May

    Two-way and four-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham (near the roundabout with Singleton Drive) between 9:30am and 3:30pm daily from Monday the 24th of April to Tuesday the 2nd of May. These traffic signals are required to facilitate remedial works by Barratt Homes. For more information, please refer to the attached document.
