  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 4th to 9th October

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, opposite the Focus Manufacturing Factory, continuously from Friday, 4th October 2024 to Wednesday, 9th October 2024. These measures are necessary for Severn Trent Water to undertake urgent repairs on a large main in the carriageway. For further details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 10th to 11th October

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, approximately 50 meters south of the roundabout with junctions at Martin Road and Dunsmore Avenue, continuously from Thursday, 10th October 2024 to Friday, 11th October 2024. This is to facilitate a hydrant renewal by Severn Trent Water. For more details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Nottinghamshire Trading Standards FREE Electric Mattress Blanket Testing Events

    Nottinghamshire Trading Standards:

    Nottinghamshire’s Trading Standards Service will be running 3 electric mattress blanket safety testing events for Nottinghamshire residents on:

    23rdOctober  – Newark Library
    24thOctober – Retford Fire Station
    25thOctober  – Cotgrave Futures

    The testing is free and if a blanket fails, the resident will be provided with a new blanket free of charge. To book a slot at any of the events, residents can call 0115 8044555.

    With winter around the corner and high energy costs, many people are looking for cheaper ways to keep warm and, electric mattress blankets are a popular method used to stay cosy.

    To save money, consumers will be looking for the availability of cheap versions of these products or use old electric blankets. These products may not meet current safety standards or may be damaged through poor storage or age. And, in the past few years, there have been incidents within Nottinghamshire where unsafe electric blankets have been the cause of serious fires and deaths

  • Temporary Road Closure – Church Street, Bingham, 18th to 22nd September

    A temporary road closure will be in place on Church Street, Bingham, from its junction with Market Place easterly for a distance of 65 meters, from 08:00 on Wednesday, 18th September 2024 until 17:00 on Sunday, 22nd September 2024. This closure is necessary for Cadent Gas mains connection works, carried out by Sunbelt Rentals. An alternative route will be available via Cherry Street, Long Acre, and Market Street.   • Community Consultation – Cogley Lane

    The Town Council have agreed to lease the land surrounding Cogley Lane play area to protect the open space.  A consultation event will be held at the Old Court House, on Wednesday 25 September 2024 between 1pm and 6pm.

    Please pop in to learn more about the site objectives and to give your views about the future plans to increase Biodiversity and promote the heritage of the site.

    Bingham Town Councillors, representatives of the Bingham Heritage Trails Association and the Friends of Bingham Linear Park will be on hand to listen to your views.

    If you are unable to attend the event and would like to share your views or have an interest in being part of a volunteer group for the site, please fill in the feedback form and email to or post to The Old Court House, Church Street, Bingham, Nottingham, NG13 8AL.

    Feedback forms can be received prior to the consultation event and the deadline for receipt is 5pm, Sunday 29 September 2024.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Long Acre and Fairfield Street, Bingham, 3rd September

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Long Acre and Fairfield Street, Bingham, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024. These signals are necessary for Via East Midlands, on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, to undertake core sampling along both roads. For more details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Lane Closures – Saxondale Roundabout, Bingham, 2nd to 28th September

    Lane closures will be in effect on the approaches to the Saxondale Roundabout from Nottingham Road and B692, Tithby Road junctions with the A52 both north and south, overnight from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, starting Monday, 2nd September 2024 until Saturday, 28th September 2024. These closures are necessary for National Highways to facilitate the changing of street lighting to LED. For more details, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 2nd September

    Temporary two-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, approximately 200 meters south of its junction with Moorbridge Road, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM on Monday, 2nd September 2024. These signals will be manually controlled at all times to ensure smooth traffic flow while BT installs a new telecom pole. For more information, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 11th to 12th August

    Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, approximately 5 meters north of its junction with Moorbridge Road, continuously from Sunday, 11th August 2024 to Monday, 12th August 2024. These measures are necessary for Severn Trent Water to install a new hydrant in the carriageway. For more information, please refer to the attached document.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Chapel Lane, Bingham, 13th to 15th August

    Temporary two-way traffic signals will be in operation on Chapel Lane, Bingham, just south of the roundabout to Dunsmore Avenue, continuously from Tuesday, 13th August 2024 until Thursday, 15th August 2024.
