  • Notice of Public Rights and Publication of Unaudited Annual Governance & Accountability Return for the Year Ended 31 March 2021

    Following the resolution by Council to sign the Annual Governance and Accountability Return at its meeting on Tuesday 25 May 2021, the Public Rights of Inspection period will commence on Thursday 01 July and end on Thursday 11 August 2021.   • Nottinghamshire’s big weekend for vaccinations

    As part of Nottinghamshire’s Big Weekend for Vaccinations , walk-in Covid-19 jabs for all adults are available from Friday 25th to Monday 28th June 8am – 8pm in the nine vaccination sites below:

    All those eligible for their first Covid-19 vaccine can walk into any of these vaccination with no booking required.  Second doses are also available for anybody who had their first jab on or before 30th April.  Find out more: Big Weekend for Vaccinations

    There are also clinics offering walk-in vaccinations for anyone aged over 18 who hasn’t had their first dose at Retford Hospital Vaccination Centre 10.30am to 5pm on 26 June and at Newgate Medical Group in Worksop on 26 June 1.30-5pm and Sunday 27 June 9.30am-12.30pm.  More info is available on the Bassetlaw CCG website .

    These clinics are all part of a national campaign so anyone who lives outside of Nottinghamshire will be able to access a similar offer at their local vaccination centre – check with your local CCG for more information.

  • Temporary traffic signals on Tithby Road, 22-25 June

    Temporary traffic signals will be in place on Tithby Road (between Langar Road and The Banks) from Tuesday the 22nd of June until Thursday the 25th of June, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please see the attached document for further information

  • Nottinghamshire projects offered last chance to apply for a grant from the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle fund

    With just one week to go, Veolia (Nottinghamshire County Council’s recycling and waste contractor) encourages projects to make an application for a grant from the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle fund before the deadline on Friday 25th June. The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle fund is a community fund designed to support projects that inspire people to think differently about their waste.

    The fund is open to not-for-profit community groups, schools and charities based in the county of Nottinghamshire (excluding the city of Nottingham) and grants of up to £1,000 for projects which help Nottinghamshire to Reduce, Reuse or Recycle materials are available.

    Highways England:

    We will be carrying out utility diversion works at Bingham Road (Harlequin) junction on the A52. We expect works to start on 21 June 2021 for approximately 12 weeks.

  • Press Release Statement – Community Governance Review Petition

    Bingham Town Council is aware that the petition for a Community Governance Review will be considered by Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet meeting on 08 June 2021 and awaits confirmation of the Cabinet’s recommendations. Bingham Town Council will co-operate with Rushcliffe Borough Council on this matter.

  • Press Statement – Comment made by Councillor Leach

    During the Town Council’s meeting on Tuesday 25 May 2021, an inappropriate comment was made by Councillor Viv Leach.

    A Bingham Town Council spokesperson said: “During the Town Council’s meeting on Tuesday May 25, an inappropriate comment of ‘Heil Hitler’ was made by Councillor Leach for which she wishes to apologise unreservedly.”

    Councillor Leach said: “The comment was made in response to an observation which, on reflection, was stupid and thoughtless of me. My comment was not intended to cause offense, but it has and for that I am extremely sorry. If I could take the comment back I would, and therefore I fully accept that there may be consequences.”

    The Town Council’s Mayor, Councillor Andrew Shelton said: “the Council does not and will not tolerate such offensive language or unacceptable comments. However, we will support Councillor Leach in making amends and help identify appropriate training.”
