  • Temporary Traffic Lights – Nottingham Road, Bingham (Near Meadowsweet Hill Junction), 12th to 15th December

    Temporary three-way traffic signals will be in operation on Nottingham Road, Bingham (approximately 22 meters from the junction with Meadowsweet Hill) continuously from Tuesday, 12th December to Friday, 15th December 2023. The works, conducted by Severn Trent Water, involve renewing a long communication pipe. For further details, please see the attached PDF.

  • Temporary Prohibition of Driving – Cropwell Road, Langar

    A temporary prohibition of driving will be in place on Cropwell Road, Langar, from its junction with Main Street to its junction with Langar Lane. The prohibition will be effective from 07:00 hours on Thursday, 4th of January 2024, until 17:00 hours on Saturday, 6th of January 2024. The work will be carried out by Severn Trent Water for new water connections. Residents’ access will be maintained.

  • Update on Pathway Surfacing works around Archers Lake

    Barratt and David Wilson Homes have been working closely with their contractors following delays caused by the recent wet weather conditions and concerns around preventing further damage to the surrounding site from potential machinery movements. As a result, health and safety plans have had to be reviewed and revisions made along with a further financial investment into temporary matting to protect the site and work is due to recommence again prior to Christmas. Subject to weather conditions, the paths should be completed early in the new year. Barratt and David Wilson Homes wish to thank residents for their continued patience whilst they work to deliver the new surfacing and paths and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Nottingham Road (Junction with Tithby Road Long Acre & Fairfield Street), 17th of November

    Temporary four-way traffic signals will be in operation on Nottingham Road, Bingham (at its Junction with Tithby Road Long Acre & Fairfield Street) between 9:30am and 2:00pm from Friday the 17th of November to Friday the 18th of November. Carriageway repairs will be undertaken by VIA East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. For further details, please see the attached document.

  • Essential Maintenance Works – A52 Saxondale

    Essential safety improvement works will be carried out on the A52, both Southbound and Northbound, from Saxondale Roundabout to New Lane Road. The work includes refreshing road markings, installing central hatching, high friction surfacing, and a vehicle-activated sign near Tithby road junction. These improvements aim to enhance road safety for all users.

    The work is scheduled to start on the 8th of January 2024 and is expected to be completed by the 14th of February 2024. It’s important to note that the planned roadworks are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

    During this period, full carriageway closures will occur from Monday to Friday between 8pm and 6am, and some weekend road closures are expected, which will be confirmed nearer the time. Fully signed diversion routes will be in place, agreed upon with the Local Authority.

    Access to businesses and residences will be maintained wherever possible, and efforts will be made to minimize disturbances and noise. For further information, please see the attached document.

     

  • Car Parking – Residents Survey

    Surveys to collect up to date and in-depth information about both on and off street car parking in Bingham town centre are underway and residents can now have their say.

    All can give their thoughts at www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/binghamparking  until November 29.

    The survey focuses on which parts of the town and surrounding areas visitors arrive from, the purpose and frequency of their visits, their mode of transport, length of stay and usual locations to park.

    It also seeks answers on what would encourage using alternative transport methods to their own personal vehicles.

    Local businesses are being contacted directly for their thoughts.

  • Bingham Remembrance Events

    Armistice Day – Saturday 11th November, 10.50 – 11.10am

    Last Post ceremony in Bingham Market Place organised by the Royal British Legion. All are welcome to attend.

    Remembrance Sunday – 12th November, 10.50 – 11.30am

    The Royal British Legion and Bingham Community Events will continue to work together to hold an outdoor only Remembrance Service in Bingham. There will be a static parade in Bingham Market Place, for a ceremony consisting of the Last Post, Two minutes silence, Address/Prayers and laying of wreaths at a temporary memorial on the square. The ceremony is expected to take approximately 40 minutes

     

  • Temporary Road Closures – Bingham Christmas Fair

    Temporary road closures will be in effect at the following locations in Bingham for the Christmas Fair:

    • Market Place – for its entire length.
    • Market Street – from its junction with Union Street to its junction with Newgate Street.

    These closures will be in place from 13:00 hours until 21:00 hours on Friday, 24th November 2023. The event is organised by Bingham Town Council. For further information, please see the attached document. In case of emergency, contact 01949 831445.

  • Roadworks Notice – Grantham Road, Bingham (From Long Acre to Willow Road)

    Continuous 24-hour three- and four-way temporary traffic signals will be in place on Grantham Road, Bingham, stretching from the junction with Long Acre to Willow Road starting Monday, 6th of November through Monday, 27th of November 2023. Only one set of signals will be operational at any given time during this period.

    These measures are necessary to facilitate the replacement of gas mains. For more detailed information, please refer to the attached document.
