  • Temporary Overnight Road Closures – A52 between Bingham and Barrowby, 24th – 26th March

A temporary road closure will be in place on the A52 between Bingham and Barrowby, from Tuesday, 24th March to Thursday, 26th March. This is to enable drainage improvements and inspection safety barriers, as well as carrying out road sweeping, vegetation clearance and grass cutting.

Work will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am.

To ensure the work is carried out safely, the Highways Agency will close the A52 between Bingham and Barrowby and work in phases. Laybys will be closed continuously from 1pm Monday 23 March to 6am Friday 27 March between Bingham and Barrowby. During this time, a telecom service will be in place for residents and businesses requiring access.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place while we carry out our work using the A1 and A46 via Newark.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout.

Every effort will be made to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.  The Highways Agency will aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to know more about this work, please call them on 0300 123 5000 or email

If you’d like to receive updates about future work along the A52, please subscribe to the distribution list by emailing .

Updates will be provided, should there be any change to the planned programme of work.
