  • Vale & Fosseway First Responders

Cllr Williams, has chosen Vale & Fosseway Responders as the Mayors Charity for the Civic Year. Cllr Williams said “The Vale and Fosseway First Responders deliver a valuable resource to Bingham and the surrounding villages, supporting the East Midlands Ambulance Service. I look forward to raising funds and awareness of the work and support that they deliver to our community”

The Vale & Fosseway First Responders serve the Vale of Belvoir and surrounding villages as highly trained volunteers responding to life threatening 999 emergency calls in their spare time in conjunction with East Midlands Ambulance Service. Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes while the ambulance crew travel to the scene.

Vale First Responders have been in existence since April 2005 and attend over 600 emergency calls every year. They are made up entirely of volunteers, they are a team of qualified, experienced and active responders. As a registered charity they have a Board of Trustees made up of both Responders and Non-Responders bringing an appropriate balance to their internal governance.
