  • Christmas Fair Cancelled

Unfortunately, the Council has made the difficult decision not to proceed with its Friday evening Christmas Fair; which is always well supported by the community. It has held off making the decision in anticipation that Covid restrictions in late November may have remained the same or even eased, making the Christmas Fair possible with an amended format, whilst still observing social distancing. Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Tuesday evening, the changes needed would be stark, to the point that the essence of the Christmas Fair, the atmosphere, would be lost. There will still be new Christmas lights in the town centre which will include new light displays and updated favourites to help celebrate the festive season, as well of course as a Christmas tree.
