  • Temporary traffic signals on Nottingham Road, 20-22 December

    Temporary traffic signals will be in place on Nottingham Road, at its junction with Stanhope Way, 20-22 December, 24 hours, due to a burst main. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Walk-in vaccination sites in Nottinghamshire

    NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG:

    Three new walk-in vaccination sites will open to the public from Monday (20th December) alongside tens of thousands of additional bookable appointments going live in a huge drive to vaccinate the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire public against Covid-19.

    The new walk-in sites will add to more than 50 vaccination sites already delivering the life-saving booster jab to the public. The new sites will open at 1pm – 5pm on Monday 20th December and will operate from 9am-5pm, 7 days a week following that. The sites are:

    • The Richard Herrod Leisure Centre
    • The Victoria Health Centre
    • The Newark Showground

    The three new sites have been set up following the Prime Minister’s drive to vaccinate as many people as possible before the end of the year. The three sites will be walk-in sites and are each expected to administer up to 1,000 vaccines each day.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Mallow Way, Bingham – 13th December

    Temporary traffic signals will be in place on Mallow Way, 8:00am until 5:00pm on Friday the 13th of December. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Kirk Hill overnight closures, 18 and 20 December

    Kirk Hill will be closed 20m either side of the level crossing overnight on the 18th and 20th of December:

    • 22:30 18th until 09:30 on the 19th
    • 23:00 20th until 05:00 on the 21st

  • Temporary traffic signals on Dark Lane, 1-3 December

    Temporary traffic signals will be in place on Dark Lane, between 9:30am and 3:00pm from the 1st to the 3rd of December. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Market Place/Market Street/Station Street closures for the Bingham Christmas Market

    The following will be closed traffic and subject to No Waiting restrictions on the 26th of November from 1:00pm-9:00pm for the Bingham Christmas Market:

    • Market Place – for its entire length
    • Market Street – between its junctions with Union Street and Newgate Street
      including the CoOp car park)
    • Station Street – for its entire length

    There will also be a parking restriction in place along Long Acre to assist buses – this will be between Cherry Street and Walkers Close.

  • Temporary traffic signals on Fosse Way, 16-18 November

    Temporary traffic signals will be in place on Fosse Way between the 16th and the 18th of November, 9am to 4pm only. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Temporary traffic lights on Chapel Lane, 8 to 19 November

    Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on Chapel Lane (at its junction with Moorbridge Road), from the 8th to the 19th of November. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Remembrance Day

    Thursday 11th November

    The Last Post & 2 Minute Silence ceremony will take place on Bingham Market Square commencing at 10.55am – participants are asked to assemble before 10.45. Please remember it is Market Day and parking and space will be limited.

    Sunday 14th November

    The Remembrance Sunday ceremony will take place on Bingham Market Square commencing at 10.50am – participants are asked to assemble behind the Buttercross before 10.40am where they will be directed to a space. Participants in the ceremony will be The Royal British Legion, The Clergy, Councilllors, Bingham Fire Service & Bingham Youth Organisations. All spectators are asked to remain outside the marked out area. Please be aware that, although we originally hoped to close the town centre to traffic, this is not now the case. Take care.

  • Deputy Town Clerk Vacancy

    This is an exciting opportunity to Join Bingham Town Council’s senior team. Due to a recent internal promotion, we are actively looking to recruit a Deputy Town Clerk. We are looking for someone who is community minded and experienced in a similar role.

    Bingham is a popular market town with a population of approximately 10,000 with good facilities. The town is expanding with over 1,000 homes in development along with a new primary school and leisure centre with community hall; both due to open in 2022.

    The Town Council owns or has maintenance responsibilities for; two separate sports facilities with pavilions, five play areas, allotments, the town cemetery, closed churchyard, CCTV, Linear Park nature reserve and the Old Court House. The Council employ a small team of office and ground staff to assist the Council in delivering its services.

    You will be working with the Town Clerk to deliver a wide range of services and projects for the community. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of self-motivation along with a sound knowledge of local government law, financial procedures and an interest in serving the local community.

    We will ask you to demonstrate your strong IT skills, knowledge of financial record keeping and use of accounting software. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and experience of minute taking, VAT and payroll.

    As Deputy Town Clerk, you will help prepare Council’s agendas, meetings and record decisions. You will also help to develop policies that support the Council in delivering its services to the community and as an employer. You will be involved in community and civic events and help project manage the implementation and delivery of the Town Council’s targets in line with its three-year reserves plan.

    Although experience of local government and/or town and parish council work is preferred, we will also consider applications from those with experience of working within a legal framework and either hold or be willing to obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration.

    You will work within the Bingham Town Council offices and flexible working arrangements outside of core hours can be agreed. Attendance at some evening meetings and occasional work outside of the normal office hours for events will be required.

    Salary Range SCP 24-28 £28,672 – £32,234 (pro rata)
    Pension Scheme – LGPS
