  • Two-Way Temporary Traffic Lights – Long Acre East (near Raymond Drive), 12th to 16th of June

    Two-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Long Acre East, Bingham (near Raymond Drive) from Monday the 12th of June to Friday the 16th of June, 24 hours a day. This is to facilitate cable repair works in the area. Please see the attached document for further information.

  • Road Restrictions for Bingham Summer Fair – Market Place & Surrounding Areas, 10th of June

    In order to facilitate the Bingham Summer Fair, several road restrictions will be in effect from 07:00am until 16:30pm on Saturday, the 10th of June, 2023.

    Temporary Prohibition of Driving:

    • Market Place will be closed between its junctions with Market Street and Station Street.
    • Market Place will also be closed between its junctions with Market Street and Church Street.
    • Market Street will be closed between its junctions with Union Street and Newgate Street.

    Temporary Prohibition of Waiting:

    • Long Acre (south side) will have a no-waiting restriction at any time between its junctions with Walkers Close and Cherry Street.

    Suspension of One-Way:

    • The one-way system on Market Place will be suspended between its junctions with Church Street and Station Street.

    Alternative Route:

    • Access to Station Street can be gained via Cherry Street, Church Street, and Market Place (as the one-way is suspended).

    The restrictions are put in place by the Bingham Town Council in support of the Bingham Summer Fair. Please see the attached document for further details.

  • Temporary Road Closure and Traffic Signal Operations – The Banks, Bingham, 21st July – 30th August

    The National Grid will be implementing a phased road closure on The Banks, Bingham, from its junction with Grantham Road to its junction with Tithby Road, beginning from 08:00 hours on Friday 21st July 2023 until 18:00 hours on Wednesday 30th August 2023.

    This closure is part of a cable reinforcement scheme, with temporary restrictions in these areas.

    During the works, traffic signals will also be operational. Three-way traffic signals will be set up at Tithby Road from 21st July 2023 until 3rd August 2023, and four-way traffic signals will be in place at Fisher Lane from 7th August 2023 until 19th August 2023.

    Road closure phases will allow access and will be clearly signed on site. The recommended alternative route during this period is via Grantham Road, Long Acre, Tithby Road and vice versa.

  • Lane Closures – Margidunum Roundabout (Fosse Way/Fosse Road/Chapel Lane), 12th to 23rd of June

    From Monday the 12th to Friday the 23rd of June 2023, lane closures will be in effect at Margidunum Roundabout, Bingham (Fosse Way/Fosse Road/Chapel Lane). The restrictions will be in place from 9:30am to 15:30pm, Monday to Friday only, with no work planned over the weekend. These closures are necessary to facilitate the replacement of posts and chevrons. For additional information, please refer to the attached document.

  • Road Closure and Suspension of One-Way – Union Street & Needham Street, 3rd to 6th of July

    Road work restrictions will be implemented on Union Street and Needham Street, Bingham from 10:00pm on Monday the 3rd of July to 6:00am on Thursday the 6th of July 2023. The specific restrictions are as follows:

    Road Closure: Union Street, Bingham – From its eastern side boundary of the Super Market Carpark to its junction with Market Street.

    Suspension of One-Way: Union Street, Bingham – From its junction with Needham Street to its eastern side boundary of the Super Market Car Park. Also, Needham Street – From its junction with Union Street to its junction with Long Acre.

    Works will be undertaken daily between 10:00pm and 6:00am. The road closure will be removed outside of these hours. Access to the Super Market Carpark will not be affected during this time.

    Marshals will be present on site to direct traffic through the one-way suspension. We advise motorists to use Long Acre as an alternative route during this time.

  • Bingham Town Council – Councillor Vacancy

    Following the recent elections held on 04 May 2023, there was an uncontested election in all wards. One vacancy for a Councillor in the South East Ward is available for co-option.

    Bingham Town Council is very active and is embarking on some exciting projects in the Town. The major projects include creating a long-term parking provision within Bingham Town Centre, new town CCTV, and the re-development of the Wynhill site to provide improved and increased community facilities.

    Alongside these major projects, the Council owns and manages various sites within the Town, including the Cemetery and Linear Park nature reserve. The council also provides support to local community organisations and promotes Bingham’s sense of place through its grant aid scheme, events, floral displays, and Christmas lighting displays.

  • Temporary Traffic Signals – Fosse Way, Wednesday 24 May

    Two-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Fosse Way, Bingham for one day only, on Wednesday the 24th of May 2023, between 09:00 and 15:00 hours. The temporary signals are required to facilitate tree felling of diseased trees. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and advise all road users to take extra care and allow extra time for their journeys. For further information, please see the attached document.

  • CANCELLED: Temporary Traffic Lights – Three-Way Signals, 11th to 15th of May (Weekdays Only)

    These works have now been cancelled.

    Three-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Porchester Road from Thursday the 11th of May to Monday the 15th of May, between 9:30am and 15:30pm on weekdays only. The purpose of these works is to adjust kerbs to alleviate flooding issues. The works are being promoted by Nottinghamshire County Council. Please see the attached document for further information.
