Events can be held to draw attention to the problem of loneliness amongst old people and provide an opportunity to bring generations together. “Older people” applies to anyone who identifies as an older person and events welcome people of all ages. Armed Forces Week begins on Monday 22nd June; this is our national opportunity to celebrate the Armed Forces and the role they play in protecting the UK.  Those who employ Reservists will be particularly interested in Wednesday 24thJune, which is Reserves Day , when we focus on the contribution made by our volunteer Reserves.  In the absence of large, public events this year, we encourage you to share your Reserve stories as much as possible through the press and social media, as well as through internal communications.  To make this as easy as possible, we have a Guide to supporting Reserves Day and some Resources for social media.

East Midlands RFCA will be publishing case studies and video interviews during Armed Forces Week and we ask you to follow and share, and tag us in your own social media so we can share.  Our campaign will begin week commencing Monday 15th June with a short video montage message to trail Reserves Day and encourage people to take part in #SaluteOurForces.
